Drought Direction Index (DDI)

Drying trend continues in the south, extending to the southwest of NSW.

  • The Drought Direction Index (DDI) tracks the 150-day trend of the rainfall index.
  • The drying trend continues in eastern parts of the Western, Riverina, Murray and South East LLS regions.
  • Other parts of NSW are seeing a continued wetting trend, which will be positive for winter cropping and fodder production.
  • DPIRD is watching these regions closely.
