Women in Fishing

Help Us Build a Healthy Fishing Future for Women

Join the New Facebook Group for Female Fishers in NSW

This dedicated Facebook group, created by NSW DPIRD, is a place for women who love fishing to connect, share experiences, and support one another in building a healthier, more inclusive fishing future.

According to DPIRD surveys, less than 15% of recreational fishers in NSW are women—let's change that! If you’ve always wanted to get into fishing but don't know where to start, or you want to connect with people who love fishing, this group is for you

What you can expect in the group:

  • Learn from Fellow Female Fishers: Exchange tips and advice with other women who fish.
  • Share Your Fishing Photos and Stories: Celebrate your catches and fishing adventures.
  • Discuss Tips and Techniques: From fishing gear to local hotspots in NSW, connect with others and improve your skills.
  • Build Connections: Meet like-minded women, make new friends, and expand your fishing network.
  • Stay Informed: Get updates on fishing workshops, events, and opportunities specifically for women in your area.

This group is part of the ‘Fish For Life’ initiative, aimed at building a healthy, inclusive fishing future for everyone.
