Boulders and cobbles

The largest boulder fields are on the seaward shoreline of the aquatic reserve below Fairy Bower Headland.

Smaller boulders and cobbles are found on the sheltered side of the headland towards Shelly Beach.

The boulder's curved edges and crevices among the cobbles offer shelter and moisture.

Marine life

Marine life, including crabs, anemones, cunjevoi, sea urchins, nerites, and turf-like algae, inhabit and lay eggs in these areas.

Please refrain from turning over or moving rocks in the aquatic reserve to protect this marine life.
