Sandy beaches

In the intertidal zones of Shelly Beach and the smaller Fairy Bower Beach, there's a diverse fauna that inhabits and burrows within the sand.

Marine life

Marine life in this area consists of polychaete worms, crustaceans, bivalve molluscs, and tiny worms known as meiofauna. These animals are food for birds during low tide and food for fish that forage in the sandy areas during high tide.
