Trudie Atkinson
Trudie Atkinson is a Technical Specialist (Grazing Systems). For over 20 years, she has worked in development and extension roles, in both NSW and Queensland, which focused on livestock production and grazing management. Trudie was the Livestock Officer (sheep and wool) in western NSW for ten years.
She has a strong interest in grazing management practices, particularly in rangelands, which improve both business profitability and resource condition. She has trained over 180 people in Tactical Grazing Management and recently led the industry consultation, on a national basis, for the development of Meat & Livestock Australia’s Total Grazing Pressure Investment Plan.
Trudie works closely with the Australian goatmeat industry. She established the industry’s supply forecasting committee and is currently a part of a project team that is investigating the prevalence and cause of kid loss.
